2026-08-08 Personal rule sets Live now — $49, one-time

The case file for your own rulebook. Live now — built from the free tool that came first.

A firm's paid document is built from a firm's published rules. This one is built the same way, from rules that are entirely yours — the same free calculator Write your own rulebook already runs against them, live, today. What follows is what the document contains, and why its price never comes back.

What this establishes
00

What already exists, free

Live today

Before any document, there is a working calculator. Write your own rulebook and Your last 100 trades already cover it: instead of selecting a firm, you define your own maximum drawdown — the one required field — and optionally a daily loss stop, a profit goal, a time horizon and a ruin threshold, each explicitly set or explicitly recorded as off. The engine runs the identical Monte Carlo simulation it runs for any firm preset, at the same path count, against whatever you entered.

What comes back today is a constraint-status result, not a pass/fail verdict: the share of simulated paths that respect every rule you set, and — where a horizon is set with no goal — the share that survive to it. That result is free, full-accuracy, and already live at the personal rule editor.

What the Personal Case File adds

Live now

A firm's paid case file turns one simulation into a dated document with a fixed shape: a verdict, the causes behind it, the range of outcomes, and the record of exactly what was tested. The Personal Case File does the same thing for a rule set that names no firm at all — the same eight-section shape, built from the run you already generate for free.

It opens with a constraint-status verdict — the share of simulated paths that respect every rule you entered — followed by a survival read for the position you are in right now. Next comes a section on which of your own rules is doing the damage: your daily stop, your drawdown, or running out of time with no goal set. A sweep study repeats the same read across a range of risk levels, so the document can show where your own sizing choice starts to cost you. A capital-at-horizon section states the 5th, 50th and 95th percentile of simulated equity, plus the probability of reaching a stated ruin level. An attested rules ledger records every rule exactly as you entered it — including the ones you turned off — beside the modeling assumptions that govern all of it. A sensitivity read reports which single rule, relaxed by one step, would move the verdict the most. It closes with a provenance line: the seed, the path count, the engine version and the date it was generated.

Why it is priced once, and never renews

The term

The paid documents built from a firm's rules renew every year for a specific reason: the rule set behind them is periodically checked against the firm's own published documents, and a renewal is what pays for that re-checking. A rule you write yourself has no such corpus behind it — there is nothing external to re-verify, only the numbers you already typed in.

That is the whole argument for the term the Personal Case File carries: one payment, $49, and the document is yours to keep, with no renewal built into it. Not because a one-time price is more generous — because a yearly charge for re-checking a firm's rules against a document that names no firm would have nothing to actually renew.

The same question, in short form, is answered at the FAQ.

A document with no firm's corpus behind it has nothing to re-verify — and nothing to re-verify is the entire argument for charging once.

Who this is for

The reader

Many independent traders already carry an informal version of a rulebook without calling it one — a stop after a stated daily loss, a line they will not trade past, a size they have never actually tested against their own results. The free editor already answers whether that line survives your own trade statistics. The document is aimed at the trader who has run that free check, gotten a real answer, and wants it as a dated record rather than a number on a screen — the same reason a firm's own evaluation is sold as a document and not just a live pass/fail light.

Read alongside

Write your own rulebook makes the underlying case in full: a personal rule is the same mathematical object as a firm's evaluation, simulated the same way.

04

What this does not know

The model boundary

The document inherits its assumptions unchanged from the free editor that already runs today, not new ones. Trades are resampled independently and identically from the statistics you provide — a losing streak is modeled as coincidence, never a regime change or a shift in how you are trading. A rule you enter is simulated as obeyed, on every path, without exception; the model has no way to know whether you would actually stop at the line you typed in.

Neither the free editor nor the document models a price gap, a forced liquidation, a broker outage, or slippage beyond a stated cost assumption. That boundary does not change when a result moves from a screen to a document.

Common questions

Questions

Can I buy the Personal Case File today?
Yes. It is live now — a one-time $49 document, checkout via Gumroad. The free personal rule editor it is built from is also live, at no cost and full accuracy.

Does the price change after purchase?
No. It is a one-time $49 document with no renewal, because it depends on no firm rule corpus that would need re-verifying — only on the rules you stated.

What can I use for free, before I buy?
The free personal rule editor at app?rules=personal, which already runs the same engine against a rule set you define, live, with no signup and no gate on accuracy.
