Terms of Service
The short version. PropSurvival is free, permanent, and complete — the free product is not a trial, and nothing that is free today is ever moved behind a paywall. It is deterministic simulation software, not advice. There is no account and no server: your data stays on your device. Paid tiers are published at $29, $49, $99 and $249: the $29 Situation Report and the $49 Personal Case File are single payments that do not renew — the Situation Report grants one month, the Personal Case File is yours to keep; the $99 Challenge Case File and the $249 Funded File are annual and renew automatically until you cancel, and you can cancel at any time before a renewal. Checkout is open, through Gumroad as merchant of record (§10), and every paid tier carries the same 14-day refund.
1. Agreement
By using PropSurvival (the "Service") at propsurvival.com, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. This is a software licence, not a sales contract: a purchase is a separate transaction with the merchant of record (§10).
2. What the Service is — and is not
The Service is deterministic simulation software: a Monte Carlo engine that computes probabilities from inputs you provide. The same inputs always produce the same numbers. It can model either a prop firm's published rule set or a set of trading rules you define yourself — to this engine the two are the same kind of input, run at the same accuracy, with no signup and no card either way. It is not financial, investment, or trading advice; not trading signals; not a broker; not a prop firm; and not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any prop firm. It does not predict your results, and no output is a promise or guarantee that you will pass an evaluation, keep a funded account, survive to a horizon you set, or earn anything. It models mechanisms and does not instruct you on what to trade, when to trade, or how much to risk. See the Risk Disclaimer, which is part of these Terms.
3. Price
PropSurvival is free, and the free product is complete. The full engine is provided at no charge, with no signup and no card: every verified firm preset, the full Monte Carlo depth the answer needs, the Firm Fit & Fee ROI comparison (each firm's published rules run against your own statistics), CSV trade-history import, your full run history, and the shareable verdict card. The free product is not a trial, is not time-limited, and is never degraded to sell you something. Nothing that is free today will be moved behind a paywall.
4. What is gated — and what never is
Accuracy is never gated. Free and paid produce identical numbers for identical inputs; no result, no firm, no depth of precision is withheld to sell an upgrade.
The only thing a paid tier gates is a different question over time. The free product answers "should I buy this challenge?" — a decision you make once, from your own statistics. A paid tier answers "I am inside a challenge or a funded account — where do I stand right now?": state-aware analysis of an account you are already in, a live Case File, and payout planning. That is a service tied to your current account state, not a better version of the free math.
5. Paid tiers and licence terms
Four paid tiers are published, and they are not all billed the same way. The Situation Report and the Personal Case File are single payments that do not renew — the Situation Report grants one month of access, and the Personal Case File is yours to keep with no term to run out. The Challenge Case File and the Funded File are annual and renew automatically each year until you cancel. Checkout is open: each tier below is bought on its own product page at Gumroad, our merchant of record, so a buyer never lands on another tier's price. Full detail on the pricing page.
| Tier | Price | Billing | What it answers |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | free forever | Should I buy this challenge? |
| Situation Report | $29 | one-time · one month | Something went wrong — where do I actually stand? |
| Personal Case File | $49 | one-time · yours to keep | Can I actually hold to my own rules — and where would they break first? |
| Challenge Case File | $99 | annual · renews | Can I still pass — and should I reset or continue? |
| Funded File | $249 | annual · renews | Am I eligible for a payout — and how do I shape it? |
A paid tier is delivered as a licence key verified in your browser. These commitments bind us:
- The Situation Report is charged once. A single payment for one month of access. No card is stored for it, nothing is ever charged again, and there is nothing to cancel.
- The Personal Case File is charged once, yours to keep. A single payment; nothing is ever charged again, and there is no term to run out — it does not expire and never asks to be renewed.
- The Challenge Case File and the Funded File renew. Both are annual, and both renew automatically every year until you cancel them.
- When a renewal falls, and at what price — the price you bought it at. An annual licence renews on the anniversary of its purchase, at the price you originally paid, never a higher one: what we publish is what a new purchase costs, not what an existing licence renews at. The Challenge Case File currently publishes at $99 a year and the Funded File at $249; if either price is ever raised again, every licence already in force keeps renewing at its own original price, unaffected. You are never charged more than the price you agreed to at purchase.
- How to cancel — and what cancelling does. Cancel at any time, through the licence-management link in the purchase email from our checkout provider, the merchant of record, or by emailing support@propsurvival.com and we will do it for you. There is no phone call, no retention interview and no cancellation fee. For the Challenge Case File ($99) and the Funded File ($249), cancelling never cuts short a term you have already paid for: the licence runs to the end of that year and simply does not renew. The Situation Report and the Personal Case File are one-time purchases with nothing to cancel.
- Refunds — 14 days, no questions, any paid tier. Ask within 14 days of purchase and you get your money back, through our checkout provider. No conditions. (The free product is the trial; a refund on top of it costs you nothing to be sure.)
- 2 devices per licence. A licence key may be activated on up to 2 devices. We enforce that count ourselves, in your browser — Gumroad states that key enforcement is the creator's job and performs none of its own, so before an activation claims a slot the engine reads the key's activation count from Gumroad's licence API and refuses a third device. If you replace a device, contact support and we will normally help you move an activation.
- What a Challenge Case File or Funded File year buys. A year of that annual tier's state-aware analysis, plus every rule re-verification and feature update we publish in that year. When a Challenge or Funded licence ends — because you cancelled, or because a term ran out — the software does not stop working: it becomes read-only, as §6 describes. Nothing you already made is ever bought again. The Situation Report and the Personal Case File are single payments, with no year to run and nothing to cancel.
- Fair use. Don't share, resell, or publish a licence key. Keys that are leaked or abused may be deactivated.
Prices, the refund window and the device limit are published from a single source in our code and are checked against this page automatically, so what you read here cannot drift from what you are charged.
6. Expiry — you never lose what you made
If a paid licence ends — because you cancelled it, or because its term ran out — the software becomes read-only: new runs and corpus updates stop, and that is all. Everything you already generated — saved strategies, run history, Case Files, exported reports — stays on your device and remains viewable. Your data is never deleted, never held, never hostage, and this is not a promise we could break even if we wanted to: those are files on your machine, not a view of a service we could switch off. An activated licence is never downgraded merely because a validation server is unreachable, and access is never withdrawn for any reason other than the term you agreed to running out.
7. Where your data lives
Your trade data never leaves your device. The engine runs entirely in your browser: trades, balances, saved strategies, run history and generated reports are held in that browser's own storage on your device and are never transmitted to us. There is no account and no server to hold them. You can verify this — put the device in airplane mode and run a full analysis.
Because the storage is your browser's, some consequences follow, and we would rather state them than have you discover them:
- Nothing is synced across devices. A licence covers 2 devices, but your data does not travel between them. Each browser holds its own.
- Clearing your browser data deletes it. Clearing site data, using a private window, or uninstalling the browser removes everything, and we cannot recover it — not as a policy, but because we never had a copy.
- Safari in particular may evict site storage after a period of inactivity, under its own storage policy. This is not something we control.
- Export is your backup, and it is your safety net. The in-app export writes your data to a file you keep. If your data matters to you, export it; that file, not our infrastructure, is what protects it.
Exactly two things ever leave your device, and neither carries any trade data: a licence key when you activate one, and an email address if you choose to type one into a rule-change alert box. See the Privacy Policy.
8. Firm rule presets and accuracy
Firm presets are our editorial modelling of each firm's own publicly documented rules, each stamped with the date it was last verified. Prop firms change rules without notice. The firm's own documentation is always the final authority. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any proprietary trading firm. Firm names identify rule sets and nothing else. They are used so the engine can name the rules it is modelling; the Service publishes no ranking of firms, no best-or-worst comparison, and no statistic about any firm's traders.
9. Acceptable use
You may not misrepresent the Service's outputs as promises of profit, use the Service to produce deceptive marketing (for example, presenting simulated results as live results), or attempt to disrupt the licensing system.
When you embed a PropSurvival widget or price card on a third-party page, you must keep the in-widget attribution link ("via PropSurvival") intact, must not present the embed as an affiliation or endorsement by any prop firm, and must not alter the displayed price or term. A citeable price card is not investment advice, promises no trading outcome, and does not replace checkout: the price charged is the price at purchase time on the checkout page.
10. Merchant of record and licensor identity
Sold by Gumroad as merchant of record. Licensed by PropSurvival. Contact: support@propsurvival.com.
Once a purchase exists, our checkout provider is the legal seller: the transaction, invoicing, applicable sales tax and VAT, refunds, and chargebacks are between you and them under their terms. These Terms govern only your licence to use the software.
11. Intellectual property
The Service's code, design, copy, and datasets are our intellectual property. Your data is yours — it stays on your device, and we claim no rights over it.
Embedding our free widgets (including the citeable one-time price card at /partner/price-badge) is permitted without a separate licence fee, provided you (a) load them from propsurvival.com rather than copying their internals, (b) retain the attribution link the widget ships with, and (c) do not strip, obscure, or replace the counsel line that states the card is not investment advice and that checkout prices control. First-party research datasets remain under their stated CC BY 4.0 terms; the price card is a product citation surface, not a CC BY dataset.
12. Warranty disclaimer
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ACCURACY, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. SIMULATION OUTPUTS MAY CONTAIN ERRORS OR SIMPLIFICATIONS AND ARE SENSITIVE TO YOUR INPUTS.
13. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR IT IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM (WHICH, WHILE THE SERVICE IS FREE, IS ZERO). WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR TRADING LOSSES, LOST CHALLENGE FEES, LOST PROFITS, OR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES.
14. Service availability and changes
The Service is provided on an "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, specific uptime, particular loading speed, or ongoing compatibility with any specific browser, device, or operating system. We may add, modify, or remove features, and we may update these Terms; material changes will be dated at the top of this page, and continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Because the core engine runs on your own device, brief interruptions to our website or the payment provider do not stop simulations you have already loaded.
15. Continuity and discontinuation
We may discontinue the Service, or any part of it, at any time. We are not obligated to operate it in perpetuity, to provide it for any minimum period, or to guarantee future updates, migration assistance, or a transition plan. By design this is fairer than it sounds: the engine is a self-contained page that runs entirely in your browser with no dependency on our servers. A copy that is already loaded — and, for any paid tier, activated — keeps working on your device to the extent your browser and operating system continue to support it, even if we stop publishing updates or wind the Service down. What a discontinuation ends is the release of new rule verifications and features, not your ability to keep using the version you have.
An activated paid licence does not depend on us being reachable: once activated it is not downgraded because a validation server is unreachable, so an outage does not lock you out of software already on your device. That is a property of how the product is engineered, not a commitment about what we would do later — this section states neither a guarantee that the Service continues nor any right for us to withdraw software you already hold.
16. Assignment
You may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms or your licence without our consent. We may assign these Terms and operate, transfer, or restructure the Service — including through a sale of assets, merger, acquisition, or change of operator — provided your existing licence rights are carried over on substantially the same terms.
17. Severability and entire agreement
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Risk Disclaimer, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service and supersede any prior understanding. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
18. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the operator's jurisdiction of registration, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence remain unaffected.
